No chance: Juan Pablo Montoya, he'll finish the back 10.

Odds, Ends, and Thongs

Well, it's been a crazy week in sports. Not so much in actual sports, just sports figures doing and saying weird crap. So Jason Giambi, Roger Clemens, and Derek Jeter wear thongs to break out of a slump. Well good for them, that also makes them gay.

Ryan Perriloux has given an interview about his time at LSU and what went wrong. It's almost comical. The interviewer asks about 10 questions and every one starts "What about the time" fill in any moronic thing a talented athlete on scholarship shouldn't do here. Everyone deserves a second chance, but not a 10th chance. Get it together man.

Big Brown goes for the Triple Crown in a week or so. I think he gets it. That horse is just nasty. Did you notice that the two horses that lead the ENTIRE race ended up 11th and 12th. Kind of makes me thing of the cliche', "It's not a sprint, it's a marathon". But it was a sprint, so I'm not sure it applies.

And finally, the NBA Conference Finals started last night with a Celtics win. I'll go ahead and tell you what you're thinking. "Who cares". Nobody does. The NBA is a joke.

Darlington Results

I didn't see the race so I can't really leave any comments, but I'll do my best.

1st Jimmie Johnson: 13th
2nd Jeff Gordon: 3rd, not too shabby pick
3rd Greg Biffle: last, I can only assume he had an engine failure or something because he lead 95 laps
4th Jeff Burton: 10th: Another top 10, ho hum.
5th Denny Hamlin: 7th: Strong finish for him.
Ryan Newman: 37th, yuck
Casey Mears: 35th, Hey, Casey came through for me at the NO Chance slot.

Grade: C+, 3 guys in the top 10, But the Biffle finish is unacceptable. Maybe Lowe's MS will be kinder. Later.

Dodge Challenger 500 @ Darlington Predictions

Top 5:

1st Jimmie Johnson: Jimmie is sick at this track with 8 top 10's in 9 starts.
2nd Jeff Gordon: Has 7 wins here, he's ridiculous.
3rd Greg Biffle: There's a reason he has the pole. He loves it here.
4th Jeff Burton: Mr. Consistent should have a nice run this week.
5th Denny Hamlin: Had it going last week for a while, I like him to contend this week as well.

Dark Horse: Ryan Newman, starts 32nd, but has 6 top 10's in 9 starts at Darlington

We'll start a new feature this week:

NO Chance at all: Casey Mears: In 7 starts, his best finish is 15th, and 4 were no better than 34th. Don't like him this week.

Crown Royal 400 Results

1. Denny Hamlin - 24th, lead over 350 laps, though, I was on the right track
2. Tony Stewart - 4th, knew he'd have a good showing
3. Kyle Busch - 2nd, he can thank Mr. Hamlin for this finish
4. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. - 15th, he can thank Mr. Busch for this finish
5. Kevin Harvick - 8th - quietly decent finish
Ryan Newman - 6th - Nice one Newman

Grade - A-, I really didn't have Bowyer on my radar although looking back I probably should have. 4 of my 6 finished in the top 8 and the two that didn't led the most laps, go figure.

I'll be back for Darlington!!

Kentucky Derby Results

Let it be known that I made these picks BEFORE the actual odds were posted, so I think I did quite well. Based on my comment you can see that I thought Colonel John would be the favorite, not Big Brown. This just one again proves I am a Sports Gawd!!! or lucky.

1st - Big Brown - Actual 1st
2nd - Pyro -Actual 8th
3rd - Denis of Cork - Actual 3rd
4th - Colonel John - Actual 6th

Grade - A, not that I would have hit a superfecta or anything.
